Question 451: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of vessels that have been decommissioned under the decommissioning programme from the date of introduction of decommissioning and from the date of the adoption of the report of the seafood industry strategy review group; the amount awarded from the date of introduction of decommissioning and from the date of the adoption of this report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A total of 82 vessels have been decommissioned under the fishing fleet decommissioning programme since 2005 at a total cost of €52,571,815. Of these, 46 vessels have been decommissioned since the Report of the Seafood Industry Strategy Review Group at a total cost of €36,605,029.
