Question 396: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of Government-run canteens operating in Government buildings in his Department and agencies; the number of commercially-run cafes or restaurants that are operating in Government buildings in his Department and agencies; if there is a policy in his Department and agencies to source food locally; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is a staff restaurant, operated by a private company, in my Department's offices in the Custom House. There are also seven catering concessions open to the public in the National Parks. While my Department has no role in the day-to-day operation of these facilities, it is understood that some food is sourced locally.
