Question 210: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of suckler welfare scheme participants who failed to register their attendance at the Teagasc suckler course; his plans, if any, to allow for the late completion of such a course; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since the Suckler Welfare Scheme was introduced in 2008 in excess of 37,000 farmers have participated in the training courses provided in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Scheme. My Department is arranging for further training sessions to be provided this year for those participants who have not already received training.
