Question 479: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills the reason a person (details supplied) in County Limerick, who has been included on a FÁS scheme for the past 20 months, cannot take up a position on a community employment scheme unless they have one week's social welfare payment despite the fact that their time spent on the FÁS course will be taken into account; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills I do not have a role in the administration of individual cases. The administration of individual cases is a day-to-day matter for FÁS as part of its responsibility under the Labour Services Act 1987.
