Question 46: To ask the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be given approval to purchase a new vehicle under the disabled driver-disabled passenger tax relief scheme in view of the fact that their application was submitted to the Revenue Commissioners on 1 March 2010. I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an application form (DD1) was received in the Central Repayments Office, Monaghan from the named person on 2nd March 2010. The restriction date on the disposal of this applicant's previous vehicle is 8th May 2010. This restriction date appears on the Vehicle Registration Certificate. The policy is to issue the Letter of Authorisation, for the purchase of the new vehicle, 2 days prior to the date that the previous vehicle may be disposed of, as the Letter of Authorisation is valid from the date of issue. This Letter of Authorisation was issued on 5th May 2010.
