Question 217: To ask the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be admitted for a surgical procedure in view of the fact the person has been on the waiting list for the past three years; if the person can be placed on the list for the National Treatment Purchase Fund to have the procedure expedited; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that due to industrial action affecting the Health Service Executive it is not possible for the Executive to supply the information requested. If this matter remains of continuing concern to you, however, I would invite you to raise it with me again in due course. The National Treatment Purchase Fund arranges treatment for patients who have been on a surgical waiting list for more than three months. It is open to the person in question or anyone acting on their behalf to contact the Fund directly in relation to their case.
