Question 213: To ask the Minister for Finance if he will detail in tabular form, the number of reams of A4 sized paper and A3 sized paper purchased in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and to date in 2010 by his Department and each agency under its aegis; and the proportion of which is 100% recycled paper. The details of the number of reams of A4 and A3 paper purchased in the period 2006 to date in 2010 are not readily available. However the table below lists the amount spent on A4 and A3 paper which is used for printers, fax and photocopier machines. Currently my Department does not use recycled paper for these machines, as it is not economically advantageous to do so. All of the reams of photocopier and printer paper currently in use by my Department are produced from elementally chlorine-free (EFC) pulps from fully sustainable sources.
