Question 789: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his plans to facilitate persons who cannot maintain contact with their children in the aftermath of a relationship breakdown due to insufficient accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The allocation of local authority housing is a matter for each individual local authority. It is a matter for the relevant authority to assess whether applicants are in need of housing and to prioritise the needs of households in accordance with the authority's scheme of letting priorities.
