The Department employs three staff at the Curragh whose responsibilities include the removal of litter. On occasions where the quantities are considerable a contractor is engaged to assist in its removal.

The Department liaises with the litter service of Kildare County Council to try to ascertain the individuals involved in the littering with a view to ensuring that these people are held responsible for their actions.
