Question 100: To ask the Minister for Transport the steps he has taken to provide the necessary additional funding to county councils to ensure that the damage caused to roads as a result of the recent weather conditions is rectified and that the roads are sealed so that we will not finish up in the same disastrous situation which was the case especially in Counties Cavan and Monaghan in the late 1980s and early 1990s when we were known as the pothole counties; his views on whether that prevention will cost much less than major repairs at a later stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
