Question 402: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that young persons, some aged ten, 11 and 12 years, are involved in gang land activity; the legislative plans he has to deal with this growing problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 297 of 23rd February 2010, which deals with the matter of children under the age of criminal responsibility who come into conflict with the law. With regard to children who are twelve years of age and above who are in conflict with the law, I wish to refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 29 of 4th of February 2010, which deals with gangland legislation and to my reply to Question No. 137 of 17th of February 2010 on tackling youth crime.
