Some 380 staff have left my Department due to normal retirement, ISER or other reasons since the introduction of the moratorium on recruitment and promotions in the Public Service. My Department continually reviews its functions and resources in the light of changing needs and is currently examining the extent to which vacancies arising out of these departures necessitate filling.
