This case is somewhat complex and involves the reckoning of service which historically was not pensionable but which can now be made pensionable as a result of recent improvements in the superannuation provisions. In addition, the person in question gave service, many years ago, with another public service employer which may be capable of being transferred to count for the purposes of her pension. My Department has sought details of that service from the other employer and these details are awaited. The Pensions Section of my Department is working to bring this case to conclusion and expects to make an award to the person involved within the next 4 weeks.
