There are currently ten State Bodies (listed below) under the aegis of my Department with the marketing function for seafood transferred from BIM to Bord Bia in June 2009 and COFORD subsumed into my Department with effect from 1 August 2009. While there are no plans to further rationalise any of these bodies at this time, the situation is under constant review.
List of Bodies: Bord Bia; Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM); Coillte; Irish National Stud; Marine Institute; National Milk Agency; Sea Fisheries Protection Authority; Teagasc; Veterinary Council of Ireland; and Aquaculture Licence Appeals Board (ALAB).
