Question 292: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of women who have had smear tests carried out each month respectively under the cervical check scheme since it began on 1 September 2008; the average amount of time it takes to process results under the scheme; the number of referrals to colposcopy clinics as a result; the numbers seen to date; the average amount of time it takes to get an appointment at these colposcopy clinics; the number and location of these clinics; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The matters raised by the Deputy are the responsibility of the National Cancer Screening Service. Accordingly, I have requested the Chief Executive Officer of the Service to respond directly to the Deputy.
