Question 284: To ask the Minister for Education and Science, further to Parliamentary Question No. 1025 of 19 January 2010, if he will review the file associated with this project to establish the promise made to this school; and if he will act to correct this matter by sanctioning capital funding for the project. All applications received in my Department for large scale capital funding are assessed against published prioritisation criteria. Following this assessment, individual projects are assigned a Band rating which reflects the type of work needed and the urgency attaching to it. There are four Band ratings in all with Band 1 being the highest and Band 4 the lowest. Projects are progressed in accordance with their Band rating and as they are ready to proceed. The number of projects which can proceed at any given time is dependent on the level of funding available. The project for the school to which the Deputy refers has been assigned a Band 1 rating, again, this is the highest priority possible. Its project will be advanced consistent with this level of priority when funding is available.
