Question 593: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his Department has had correspondence from Cork County Council in relation to the proposed closure of the landfill site at Youghal, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6999/10]

My Department is not aware of any correspondence from Cork County Council on this matter. In any event closure of this landfill is an operational issue for which Cork County Council has statutory responsibility.
