Question 569: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will have an investigation made into the dispute regarding allegations of inappropriate housing allocations in Dublin City Council; if he will request Dublin City Council to publish the council's audit committee report. Housing allocations are made by a local authority in accordance with an allocation scheme, the making of which is a reserved function of the authority. The legislation governing local authority allocations precludes ministerial involvement in the allocation of housing in individual cases. I understand from Dublin City Council that the matter in question is subject to ongoing examination. Publication of an audit committee report is a matter for the local authority concerned.
