Question 191: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the conflicting advice from the website of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service and the Garda National Immigration Bureau regarding whether persons who hold Irish-born child residency visas can renew their visa at their local GNIB office or correspond directly with the IBC unit; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to inform the Deputy that I am aware of the situation to which he refers, which is specific to the parents of Irish born children granted permission to remain in the State under the IBC 05 scheme. The practical arrangements for the registration of those parents who are being granted renewal of their permission to remain in the State have been discussed and agreed with the Garda National Immigration Bureau. I should add that a notice clarifying the arrangements will shortly appear in the newspapers and will be posted on the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website.
