Question 243: To ask the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the concern of the Ombudsman that the Irish Red Cross is excluded from the scope of the Freedom of Information Act; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4921/10]

The Irish Red Cross is a voluntary and autonomous body and having regard to its international character and the work it does it is not considered appropriate that FOI should apply to it.
