The full-time equivalent staff numbers in my Department from 2007 to date are as follows: 1 January 2007: 4,217 1 January 2008: 4,369 1 January 2009: 4,245 1 January 2010: 3,881 Please note that the increase in 2008 is a result of the addition of fisheries functions to my Department's responsibilities in November 2007. The additional breakdown sought by the Deputy will be forwarded to him when it has been complied in the format requested.
