As a condition of EU State Aid approval given earlier this year in relation to the €4 billion capital injection, the bank is not allowed to engage in new lending except to existing customers for existing projects. This was further elaborated on in the Subscription Agreement between the bank and the Minister at the time of the payment of the €4 billion. The specific figure for new lending since nationalisation is commercially sensitive and can not be disclosed at this time.
