Question 281: To ask the Minister for Finance the full extent of funds from the proceeds of the National Lottery allocated to or through his Department in each of the past five years to date in 2009 and future years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38108/09]

Minister for Finance ( Mr Lenihan): Funding from the National Lottery which is allocated to this Department is used for the Charitable Lotteries Scheme. Under this Scheme, funding is made available to supplement the income of certain private charitable lotteries whose products are competing directly with National Lottery products. The amount of funding provided from the National Lottery to this Department for this Scheme in each of the past 5 years is as follows:
