Question 261: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of officials at principal officer level or higher, in both absolute terms and as a percentage of total staff, who are expected to be working in her Department following full implementation of the incentivised early retirement scheme. To date, eight officials at Principal Officer or higher level, representing 7.5 whole equivalents, have applied and been approved for the Incentivised Scheme of Early Retirement in my Department. This represents 1.5% of the total number employed as of 30 September 2009. The final closing date for applications for the scheme has recently been extended by the Department of Finance to 23rd October 2009. Therefore the figures quoted above may be subject to change.
