Question 1203: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the returns in tabular form from each individual vocational educational committee regarding the number of applications received for the special incentive career break, indicating the number awarded or refused and the saving that could have been made on the salary for same; if he is monitoring the number of awards and refusals by each VEC; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy is set out below. My Department is processing the details returned by the VECs on the applications they have received under the Special Incentive Career Break Scheme. My Department will continue to monitor the implementation of this and the other incentivised schemes by the VECs.
