Question 488: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if she has received documentation appertaining to extension, improvement, refurbishment works at Johnstownbridge health centre in County Kildare; the full extent of the works required; when her attention was drawn to this requirement; when it is expected to respond positively to such requests in view of the situation prevailing at present; if she will enter into dialogue with local general practitioner and health centre staff with a view to expediting the process having particular regard to the population increase in the area and that the current facilities were provided to meet the existing population demands 40 years ago; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Question 489: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number and location of health centres in County Kildare currently deemed to be in need of upgrading, extension, renovation, or replacement in accordance with population or other requirements; the extent to which documentation has been submitted to her in respect of such proposals; the degree to which it is intended to respond to those longest on such waiting lists; the estimated cost of the required improvements; the time scale within which provision is expected to materialise; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to answer Questions Nos. 488 and 489 together.

As the Deputy's questions refer to service matters they have been referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply to the Deputy.
