Question 240: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the details of all medical appliances and equipment that are being rented or leased by the Health Service Executive; the actual cost to purchase the items that are currently being rented or leased; the period for which these various appliances and equipment are being rented; if the HSE has carried out a cost benefit analysis of purchasing certain appliances and equipment as opposed to renting and leasing; if this policy is being implemented; the financial report on the outcome of this policy which must lead to savings when the cost of renting or leasing appliances and equipment over a period of time can be greater than the purchase cost of same; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
