Question 90: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 120 of 17 June 2009, the number of the 65 persons who have gone missing from either State accommodation or the address provided to the Garda following their release from custody, and their immigration status; the number who have been traced in each immigration category; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to Parliamentary Question No. 120 of 17 June 2009. With reference to the 65 persons being considered as potential victims of human trafficking, I am informed by the Garda Síochána that fifty-one are adults who have not been reported missing to the Garda Síochána. Fourteen were minors, four of whom were reported to the Garda Síochána as missing by the Health Service Executive. Two have since returned to the care of the HSE, one is believed to have transited to the UK (and is recorded as having been arrested in the UK in February, 2009, for selling counterfeit goods). In the remaining instance, the person was subsequently identified as being over 18 years of age.
