Question 138: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his plans to create a national waste register to log which waste services, households and businesses use; the person who would be responsible for such a register; the estimated cost for setting up such a register; if local authorities would have to finance the creation and maintenance of such a register; the steps he is taking to avoid the problems experienced in the electoral register; the way he will log details of houses for rent which might change occupier at regular intervals; the communication he has had with the private waste industry regarding the creation of this register; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
