Question 272: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when Pobal will be in a position to open the second strand of the first phase of Equality for Women Measure; the date by which Pobal expects to have opened the third strand of the first phase of Equality for Women Measure; the expected amount of funding within each strand; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The extremely grave Exchequer position has already made it extremely difficult to commit funding under the first Strand of the Equality for Women Measure and the position is under ongoing review. In the circumstances, I do not consider that it would be useful at this time to invite applications under additional Strands of the Measure.
