Question 245: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath has not been awarded their REP scheme payment to date, despite the fact that they have been subject to audit and inspections in this matter; if steps will be taken to award payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Question 246: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who applied for the REP scheme from 1 December 2007 and is due €9,481 has not been awarded same to date; if payment will be awarded without further undue delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The person named submitted an adjusted plan on 9th June 2009 addressing deficiencies in the plan he had previously submitted. This plan will now be subject to administrative checks and if it is found to be satisfactory will be processed for payment.

The person named finished his REPS 3 contract in June 2009 and my Department has no record of an application from him to join REPS 4. It is open to him to apply to participate in REPS 4, but as the closing date of 15 May for receipt of applications in respect of 2009 has passed, any valid application received from him cannot have a start date earlier than 1st January 2010.
