Question 189: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is a 92% non-compliance in relation to the requirement of building energy rating certificates for house sales or lettings; if he has received correspondence in relation to this adherence to the building regulations; and the steps he will take to ensure compliance with building energy rating. It is unclear what specific correspondence is referred to in the question. I refer to the reply to Question Nos.19 and 22 of 7 May 2009. I now understand from Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) that over 35,700 BER certificates have been issued to date this year in respect of dwellings.
