Question 115: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if her attention has been drawn to the fact that an employer has indicated that, due to economic constraints, their firm will not be in a position to fund renewal of the work permit application of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the steps he will take to ensure that this person does not lose their employment by virtue of their employer's refusal to fund a work permit renewal application; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Under the Employment Permits Act 2006, the prospective employer or prospective employee can submit an application for an employment permit. The fees required for this application can be paid by the applicant.
