Question 305: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs when a grant will be awarded to a group (details supplied) in County Laois which has been due since April 2009; if his attention has been drawn to the importance of this grant being awarded in order that the group can meet its schedule or repayments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The group in question applied to my Department for funding under the Programme of Grants for Locally-Based Community and Voluntary Organisations. Funding of €60,000 was approved for refurbishment works with a further €7,000 approved for equipment for the community centre. An advance of €36,300 issued to the group on the 19th of May and the balance of the funding will be paid in accordance with the payment guidelines attaching to the Programme.
