Question 518: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the number of schools that have been furnished with 100 Mbps broadband capability; the number that will receive 100 Mbps broadband in 2009; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17615/09]

The 100Mbps to post-primary schools project will involve an initial demonstration project in 2009 to guide its wider roll out. The finer details of the demonstration project are expected to be finalised shortly and the relevant procurement processes will commence thereafter.
