Provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office indicate that three people died from eating disorders in 2007 and another person died where an eating disorder was identified as an external factor but a different underlying cause of death was noted. Two people died from an eating disorder in the first six months of 2008; figures for the last six months of 2008 are not yet available.
