Question 130: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position of a person on a work permit when the employer can no longer continue trading; if the person can seek a new employment; the State entitlements to which they are entitled; if the person can remain in this State; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The position is that if a foreign national on a valid work permit is made redundant then they have a period of 3 months, assuming their immigration status is in order, to source other employment and apply for a new employment permit.
Access to State entitlements is a matter for the Department of Social and Family Affairs.
