Question 182: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the State positions that require an oath of office to be taken prior to assuming office; if such an oath involves a religious reference; if he has plans to implement changes in this area. [14616/09]

There is a form of oath or solemn declaration provided for in the appointment of members of the Judiciary and An Garda Síochána. The Government has no proposals to amend these provisions at present.
