Question 371: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the pension levy is being imposed on city and county councillors' representational allowance which is causing a financial burden to those councillors who have no other source of income other than their council paid allowances. I am aware that under the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act, 2009, a deduction is being made from the remuneration of members of local authorities on the same basis as in the case of other office holders and employees of public service bodies.
