Question 152: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a person (details supplied) who arrived from the US on 6 March 2009 was arbitrarily deported to Philadelphia, a location from whence they began their journey; if such action is expected to be beneficial to sympathetic treatment to undocumented Irish in this US; if it is intended to make contact with this person with a view to an amicable resolution in view of the fact that they are eligible for Irish citizenship; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have been informed by the Immigration Division of my Department that they have requested the information sought from the Garda Authorities. The Immigration Division will be in contact with the Deputy when this information is to hand.
