Question 189: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the reason for the delay in the disbursement of funds by the newly constituted Roscommon Integrated Development Board; when it is envisaged this board will make funds available to organisations in County Roscommon in view of the financial pressure that these groups find themselves in. As the Deputy may be aware, I have signed contracts with 35 Local Action Groups, including Roscommon Integrated Development Company, for the delivery of the LEADER elements of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013. All 35 Groups are now operational and I understand that the Programme is now open for applications throughout the country. With regard to Roscommon Integrated Development Company, an allocation of €12.8m has been made to the Group for the period of the Programme for activities aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas and the diversification of the rural economy.
