Question 132: To ask the Minister for Finance if, in view of his previous correspondence with the leaders of the main Opposition parties warning them of the potential consequences of loose talk relating to the banking sector, he has contacted a person (details supplied) with regard to their publicly stated view that certain banks will be nationalised within three months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The letter to which the Deputy refers was actually issued by the Taoiseach. I have not been in contact with the individual concerned in relation to the quoted views. It is open to any individual to express an opinion and the individual concerned was not speaking in the capacity indicated in the details supplied with the Deputy's question.
