Question 467: To ask the Minister for Education and Science when his Department will make a decision on the case in respect of a school (details supplied) in Dublin 24 which has been waiting for years for approval for a school building project; if, in view of the fact that 11 classrooms are in a semi-permanent building and 13 prefabricated classrooms exist, he will prioritise this application in the context of the 2009 capital expenditure for his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The building project for the school to which the Deputy refers is currently at an early stage of architectural planning. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered in the context of my Department's multiannual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the progression of the project at this time.
