Question 253: To ask the Minister for Health and Children, further to Parliamentary Question No. 251 of 29 October 2008 and following on from the 2006 report, the number of prosecutions initiated by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland or the official agency in conjunction with the FSAI; the number of legal actions which are currently before the courts; the number which were successful; the corresponding figures for breaches identified as part of the routine inspection of food businesses in each year 2006 to 2008; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department have been in contact with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) which is currently collating the information requested from the official agencies. I have asked the FSAI to identify and to forward directly to the Deputy the details requested.
