Question 47: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he plans to initiate legislation that will include protocols and procedures for local authorities and others in respect of evictions, to ensure a clear, independent and accessible appeals process that would be available to tenants who are the subject of eviction procedures and include appropriate protocols and procedures for meeting the accommodation needs of households who are subject to eviction. The issues raised in the question in relation to eviction procedures have been the subject of recent court decisions which are currently under appeal to the Supreme Court and the matter is in effect sub judice.
