Question 655: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, further to Parliamentary Question No. 172 of 13 November 2008, if it is possible to facilitate the applicant other than by referring their daughter to the embassy of the Cameroon in the UK in view of the fact that the embassy cannot issue a passport without a birth certificate which the person does not have; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my replies to Parliamentary Question number 172 of 13 November 2008 and to Parliamentary Question number 113 of 4 December 2008. The position remains unchanged. As the person in question's daughter is a Cameroonian national it is advised that she contact the Embassy of Cameroon, 84 Holland Park, London W11 3SB, England with a view to obtaining her national passport or travel document. It should be noted that applications for an Irish travel document on behalf of children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a birth certificate which shows both parents' details.
