Question 648: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of non-permit holding HGVs stopped and charged by An Garda Síochána since the five or six axle semi-trailer HGV permit system in Dublin was introduced; his views on whether as many as 40% of HGVs within the permit cordon area may not have a valid permit; the number of summonses or fixed penalty points notices issued to HGV drivers for not having a valid permit since the permit scheme was introduced; the number of fines that have been paid by HGV drivers or operators found to have breached permit regulations in the same time period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In the time available, it has not been possible for the Garda authorities to supply the details requested by the Deputy. I will be in contact with the Deputy as soon as the information is to hand.
