Question 318: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food his views on whether there is unfair competition created by Coillte when it sells its own Christmas trees in competition with local business interests such as garden centres and other stores; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Coillte Teoranta was established as a private commercial company under the Forestry Act, 1988. Day-to-day operational matters, such as participation in the Christmas tree market, are the responsibility of the company.
