Question 238: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if her Department or the Health Service Executive has considered the establishment of a centre of excellence for the support and treatment of persons with rare chromosome disorders of whom there may be as many as 24,000 nationwide; the criteria that would be applied in deciding whether the development of a centre of excellence was appropriate in cases such as this; and if her attention has been drawn to the work of a voluntary support group (details supplied) which is working with families affected.
