Question 72: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the commitment in the programme for Government to ensure that a child under five waiting more than three months for occupational or speech and language therapy will be allowed to access these services automatically through the National Treatment Purchase Fund. As it is presently organised, the National Treatment Purchase Fund currently arranges hospital-based treatment. Therefore the type of services to which the Deputy refers do not fall within the remit of the Fund at present. The matter will be kept under review.
